Pilots for Patients owns no aircraft of its own. Every flight happens in a volunteer pilot's personal airplane — donated along with their time, fuel, and skill so a patient can reach care they couldn't otherwise afford to fly to.
Our pilots range from weekend flyers in a four-seat Skyhawk to owner-operators of turboprops and light twins. What every one of these aircraft has in common: a pilot who volunteered it, and its fuel, for someone else's flight to care.
Four-seat, single-engine aircraft make up the backbone of the fleet — practical, economical, and flown by the majority of our active pilots. The Cessna 182 Skylane alone accounts for our single most common aircraft type.
